About Yuka
Yuka Ito-Hamburger (b.1985 Nagoya, Japan) creates jewelries which are contemporary, minimalistic yet have warm feelings. By simplifying the design by omitting some elements, by combining different materials/colors/techniques and textures she tries to give the object a completed form. She usually extracts the essence of inspiration from her daily life. Not only what she sees but also what she feels, smells, hears can be reflected to her works.
She encountered jewelry making while living in Italy, and studied the fundamental skill of goldsmithing in Florence. Later she moved to Finland to pursue opportunities to learn the beauty of simplicity in jewelry design. After completion of her studies at Lahti Institute of Design and Fine Arts in 2018, she moved to The Netherlands.
Currently she is designing and creating jewelries in her cosy home atelier in Amsterdam.
